Amazon Business Reports – Are you getting the Buy Box?

Amazon Business Reports – Are you getting the Buy Box?

Getting the sale, largely depends on if you are getting the Buy Box. To get a breakdown of Buy Box percentage of all your listings, you can go to “Reports”->”Business Reports” Under “Business Reports”, you will see various options. To check your Buy Box percentage, go to “By ASIN”. You can use either 3 of those options to check the various listings you have. The screenshot I have above is from selecting “Detail Page Sales and Traffic”. Along with showing you the Buy Box Percentage, it also shows the units ordered,…

Wholesale – Pros and Cons

Wholesale – Pros and Cons

When I first started out on Amazon, I started with Online arbitrage. It wasn’t too bad, there were hits and misses, but I guess that’s just part of the learning process. I did online arbitrage for about one month before I realized I’m running out of profitable stuff to buy. After a few frustrating days of spending hours of searching on the internet and finding nothing worth buying, I decided to just go Wholesale. Wholesale sounds wonderful really,  you just have to find the gold, and keep replenishing it. Sounds…

Reconciling Your Amazon Shipments

Reconciling Your Amazon Shipments

Basically after you ship in your items, you do need to check if Amazon received everything correctly. Because usually they don’t. To reconcile your shipment, go to “Inventory” -> “Manage FBA Shipments” Next, you will come to a page where you can see all your shipping plans. As you can see, though my shipment was sent in somewhere in May, they are still pending in “Receiving” status. It now takes about one month for Amazon to be done “Receiving” the items. Click on “Track Shipment” to see more details for each…

What should you sell on Amazon?

What should you sell on Amazon?

Million dollar question 😉 Obviously I won’t be able to tell you exactly what I am selling. But I do have a set of guidelines influencing my decisions. Category New sellers are typically restricted in some categories. Examples of restricted categories are Grocery, Health & Personal Care, Beauty, etc. You want to give those a miss when you first start out. And yup, I’m still gated in those 🙁 There is no such thing as the “most profitable” category. There are opportunities in all categories. You just need to find it! Best Sellers…

Dealing with unsellable inventory – Creating removal order

Dealing with unsellable inventory – Creating removal order

So if an item is deem unsellable by Amazon. It will go to into your inventory as “unfulfillable”. To check if you have any “unfulfillable” inventory, go to “Inventory”-> “Manage Inventory” -> “Remove Unfulfillable Inventory” As you can see, I have 2. To create a removal order, click on “Create removal order” to go to the next step. Enter the address you want Amazon to send the item to. For my case, it’s the address of my prep company. My Prep company will do the inspection to see if the item…

Seller Central Reports : Amazon’s return policy – My Amazon returns for the past 180 days

Seller Central Reports : Amazon’s return policy – My Amazon returns for the past 180 days

Before you get into this business, you may need to note that Amazon returns are part and parcel of this business. Amazon’s return policy is the reason why people love shopping there. Customers can easily return most items they bought within 30 days. What this means to sellers is that, you need to account for this as a cost of business. Link to Amazon’s return policy here. My returns for the past 180 days and a breakdown of what it means : “Damaged” – Amazon will take responsibility for the damage and seller…

90 Wholesale SKUs :D

90 Wholesale SKUs :D

One of my targets is to find 100 replenishable wholesale SKUs for the month of March. Target is slightly off, but I still have a grand total of 90 Wholesale SKUs. Not too bad, in my opinion. Extracted from Excel I’m using to track my wholesale purchases. I’m really a very primitive person, nothing too complicated, just plain old excel for tracking 🙂 Though, as I expand my business, I should probably get something a little more sophisticated. 7 wholesalers, 90 SKUs. Next month’s target, 200 Unique replenishable SKUs and…

The kind of emails I love receiving ;)

The kind of emails I love receiving ;)

It never hurts to ask. I had checked with this particular wholesaler if they had free freight for certain amount of orders and they had said no. I had asked because I knew I was going to be ordering a lot more than their MOQ. In the end, I still ended up with free shipping 😀 And you know your business is going to go to the next level when you need to start considering pallets from your wholesaler 😀 These two orders make up my second wholesale shipping plan to Amazon. The…

Inbound Shipping to Amazon

Inbound Shipping to Amazon

Finally my first wholesale order is inbound to Amazon’s 4 warehouses. I have a total of 106 units, divided into 4 shipments. By default, when you create a shipping plan, there is a high chance of your shipment getting split. If you want all the items in your shipping plan to go to the same warehouse, you can always opt in to Inventory Placement Service. However, it will only apply to most of your standard sized items. Plus there is an additional charge per unit for this service. Read more about…

Unable to send in inventory – “You are already at the maximum inventory allowed for this product due to capacity or other restrictions.”

Unable to send in inventory – “You are already at the maximum inventory allowed for this product due to capacity or other restrictions.”

New issue when sending in inventory. This is the first time I’m sending these 3 SKUs in. Guess some other sellers have a lot of these piling up in Amazon Warehouses. Or they are running out of space. Not a comforting thought. Have sent an email to Seller Support. Shall see how it pans out. I’m actually more concerned with how this will affect private label products. Especially new listings. Imagine manufacturing 5000 Qty, and getting restricted by Amazon. That is going to be hell. Please follow and like us:
